I use the hard monster clay.

Monster clay is a wax based clay that you can soften by warming. Once it cools its very hard. You can reuse it too! I love sculpting with it because its very forgiving and feels good against my sculpting tools.
It’s also perfect for silicone mold making, the silicone doesn’t stick to it or inhibit curing.
