Happy Mother’s Day mom! This is Lilli, my mom. Isn’t she adorable? This picture is from years ago but it’s my all time favorite picture of her. I think we have a similar smile, don’t you?
Although I wasn’t raised by my mom, we have grown very close over the years. We are very much alike and the more I get to know her, the more I understand myself. She’s an awesome mom.
When Tim and I married, timmy (tim jr.) was already 15 years old. I missed the first steps, first words, late night feedings and changing diapers. (I’d like to say I missed the sleepless nights worrying about him but now that he’s in his twenties, I still have plenty of those.) Even though I was late to the party, it was perfect timing, I love being his mom. Every year we grow closer and closer as a family.
Yesterday we celebrated Mother’s Day by placing flowers on my mother in laws gravesite. Naomi, went home to heaven in 2007. We miss her funny laugh and giving heart. I know she is smiling down from heaven on us. Tim Jr joined us there.
I was thrilled he brought me a bouquet of white tulips, a funny card and even sweets in the form of cherry twizzlers.
Tim and I drove home and had a fun movie marathon day, then joined Tim Jr. later that evening for dinner. All in all it was a great Mother’s day.
I hope all of the mothers out there had a great mother’s day too!

Today I’m officially launching my new website. I built it myself with the help of Tara Gentiles online Website Kickstart class. I highly recommend it.
You may notice that my older blog posts (from 7 years of blogging) are missing in action here. There’s a little back end tweaking with my hosting company that needs to happen before I can import the feed. And quite honestly, I’m not sure I want to. I kind of feel like a clean slate/fresh start might be a good idea. If you have an opinion either way, let me know by leaving a comment.
In the transition I also inadvertently lost my subscribers from my feedburner list. I’ve re-added it, please re-subscribe to get my blog posts in your email inbox. Sorry about that. It’s tricky moving and re-building a website but i continue to learn a lot and will be back on track soon.
Although the site isn’t “perfect” I wanted to get it launched. I plan on revising my gallery pages to make it easier for you to see the my art work. The slide shows seem a little cumbersome to me. Thumbnail image galleries is what I’m researching now. Please bear with me as I tweak things.
To all you mothers, step mothers, pet mothers, god mothers…Happy early Mother’s Day to you!
PS: thank you to the wonderful ladies who were on my secret website team to help me plan and organize my new website. I truly appreciate all your help.

Bead Soup Blog Party
At the start of each year I ALWAYS get so inspired to create new things and try out new techniques…it’s right after all the holidays, and I’m raring to go, so I sign up for different swaps to participate in. (It’s a challenge to stay on top of these projects but I do my best!)
This year one of the swaps I signed up for Lori Andersons Bead Soup party. Lori’s swap had 350 people sign up and was limited to 200. I was so happy to make it in even though I haven’t done this type of work in a looong time!
My partner is Rosy, a sweet young lady from Mexico. Read her bead story here. She sent me a nice variety of beads and found objects. (pictured below). Be sure to check out her blog where she’ll post what she did with the beads I sent her.

Beads from Rosy
To make my project, I started by playing with the beads, arranging and
rearranging them, until I found something I liked. My goal was to do
something different and unexpected. I used a polymer clay pendant that I had transferred an image onto. The copper color coordinated with the burnt orange beads Rosy sent. I used the antique brass chain link to go with the antique key. It was a very fun project! Be sure to blog hop to the other participants below. Sure to amaze and delight!
